It moves quickly and the lead character is charming.  Apparently it&#8217;s a sequel to another of Berg&#8217;s books, but it certainly wasn&#8217;t necessary to know that.  The only thing it might have explained better was the father character who was threatening but shadowy.  Berg does a good job of impersonating a young girl&#8217;s thoughts and feelings.
